Termination after SSW 5+2

Hi Pan-Team, last week we got after the embryo transfer the nice news that it worked, two days later then unfortunately the beginning of bleeding first with brownish discharge and then since Monday evening with red and bright red blood and severe abdominal pain + strong pulling in the back. Then yesterday the blood test result that the hcg level dropped to 8 and no clear amniotic cavity was seen in the US either...thereby the diagnosis of SS miscarriage or abortion. I have stopped taking famenita and progynova since yesterday as instructed. The pain always comes in spurts, it is usually tolerable, but could I take something for the pain? And how long will the bleeding last, what is normal? Do I need to or can I come back for an ultrasound to see that everything has come off? Is that necessary with such an early miscarriage? My next phone consultation appointment is in early March. Thank you very much in advance.

Answer:

Hi, you can take painkillers like ibuprofen or paracetamol. Bleeding may continue for about 1 week. With an HCG value of 8, a US check is usually not necessary. If you are unsure, please ask by phone.
