What is endometriosis and how can I be helped?

It is benign but often painful. We support you holistically as a certified clinical endometriosis centre (Level II).

Endometriosis is a common benign but often painful and chronic disease for women. With this disease, the endometrium is found outside the uterine cavity. It is the second most common gynaecological disease of women and occurs in about 7-12 percent of all women.

Just like the lining of the uterus, the endometriosis changes during the menstrual cycle. This leads to adhesions, scarring and complaints through bleeding and local inflammation reactions.

Often endometriosis remains undetected for long time because the symptoms are usually non-specific and cannot always be clearly assigned to the disease. On average, it takes six years in Germany before a final diagnosis is made for a woman.
